The meeting was well-attended. Look for the signup form in the\nright-hand column on ema.arrl.org and sign up to receive stories!\n \n+++\n\nNEW ENGLAND DIVISION CABINET MEETING \u2013 APRIL 16, 2022\nDirector Fred Kemmerer, AB1OC, and Vice Director Phil Temples, K9HI, are\nplanning to convene another New England Division Cabinet Meeting via\nZoom on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 9 AM-12 noon. \n\nThe last cabinet meeting, held on January 8, was well-received and drew\napproximately 50 amateurs representing ARRL-affiliated clubs and field\norganization leaders from all seven sections -- along with several ARRL\nHeadquarters staffers. Andy has created and maintained the collection for\nthe past ten years. In that time, it has been downloaded 100,000 times.\n \nSourceForge recognized the project for:\n* Community Leader\n* Community Choice\n* Open Source Excellence\n* SourceForge Favorite\n\nPART of Westford President George Allison, K1IG, wrote,\n\u201cCongratulations on the award from SourceForge! I know that your\nsoftware collection has significantly influenced the adoption and use of\nLinux by ham radio operators worldwide.\u201d\n\n+++\n\nHAM SCOUTING ACTIVITY ON THE INCREASE\nNew England Sci-Tech member Jon Lyna, KC1MII, organized a ham radio\ndisplay at a recent Boy Scouts Klondike Derby on February 5 in\nDunstable. Pi, K1RV, the trustee of W1BSA, generously made available the\nW1BSA call sign to use. It may be the most important\nthing to hit the Amateur Radio service in a long time. \n\nThe ARRL Foundation will award up to $500,000 to clubs. \u201cThis program\nwill substantially contribute to the growth of amateur radio clubs and\ntheir efforts to expand and support the amateur radio community,\u201d\nwrites ARRL Foundation President David Woolweaver, K5RAV. \n\nIt\u2019s not too early to start thinking about how your club might take\nadvantage of an influx of capital to take on that pie-in-the-sky\nproject--like a new communications trailer, or a new remote HF station\nto get your antenna\/condo-challenged club members on the air on HF!\n\nLook for more announcements to follow. ARRL New England Division Convention)\norganizing committee has confirmed the dates for the 2022 convention in\nMarlborough, MA: August 26-28, 2022. However, with antenna restrictions at his home\nlocation he was unable to be heard at the time. Hopefully propagation\nwill allow him to do so from time to time. Thanks to Ethan for his\nefforts.
